27 CLUB is the debut mixtape from RANJ, spanning 27 tracks that trace the interior landscape of becoming. Rooted in hip-hop and R&B while moving fluidly through Tamil and global sonic influences, the music mirrors the project’s emotional and cultural dualities. Executive produced by long-time collaborator Clifr who appears on 9 songs, the project sees different sides of RANJ’s signature sound as she collaborated with 13+ producers on the record, which still carries an intimacy that reflects its origins in private, shared spaces. Moving between English and Tamil, it navigates lineage, gender, grief, desire, and ambition with precision and emotional immediacy. Conceived during a period of personal upheaval, it captures the moment when observation gives way to action, and survival begins to transform into authorship.
