Intro note by Uday Kapur

This past December, I lost my mother to late-stage ovarian cancer. Over the six years that she lived with the diagnosis – through the multiple cycles of chemotherapy and surgeries – she made an enormous effort to understand the reason why ovarian cancer remained such an unknown entity for most women. Through her work with CanSupport India, an organisation that runs India’s largest palliative care programme and provides support to countless cancer patients across the country, my mum sought to help others be aware and prepared for life after a cancer diagnosis.

ovarian cancer awareness month

September is ovarian cancer awareness month and is symbolised by the colour teal. In an effort to continue and build upon the campaigning and fundraising work done by my mum, Azadi is going teal. We’re selling a limited edition t-shirt. designed by the supremely talented Priyanka Paul (artwhoring), with all proceeds being donated to the inspiring team at CanSupport India.

A few of these t-shirts will also be available at shows by Azadi Records’ artists and can also be purchased via the Azadi Records online store here, along with teal ribbons and pamphlets that will provide you with more information about the incredible work that the team at CanSupport India is doing.

Purchase the t-shirt here.
