Design Lead

The Design Lead at our company will serve as a creative visionary and leader, creating and overseeing all aspects of design projects and driving the development of innovative and visually compelling solutions. Reporting to the Brand Manager, the Design Lead will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensuring the successful execution of design projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Content creation, Design Strategy and Direction:
  • Create engaging and relevant content to effectively promote the artists, label, music and related activities. 
  • Collaborating across all teams to plan and define design goals, strategies, and project briefs and manage timely delivery of content. 
  • Ensure content is consistent with each artist, label and brand’s voice, style and tone.Help optimise content for search engine optimization (SEO) and user engagement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Coordinate with social media managers in conducting and compiling market research to analyse and evaluate trends within the music industry to better evaluate:
    • Market needs 
    • Performance
    • Effectiveness of various marketing content

Design Curation and Execution:

  • Create, manage, curate content and artwork for brand/artist/label’s social media requirements on platforms including but not limited to the website, Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube.
  • Develop design concepts, sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups to visualize and communicate design solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate Project deliverables and timelines.
  • Provide art direction and design guidance in meetings to the team, ensuring consistency, brand compliance, and aesthetic excellence.
  • Conduct design reviews, gather feedback, and make iterative improvements to achieve the desired design outcomes.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Review existing content. Organise and maintain proper records of content created. 
  • Collect and analyse data from various digital marketing channels, such as website analytics and social media insights.
  • Assist  in preparing budgets, monitoring expenses and closing pnl. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Design Lead, Creative Lead, or in a similar leadership role within a design agency or in-house design team.
  • Exceptional design skills and a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects.
  • Basic knowledge of latest design tools, software, and technologies, and relevant upgrades or additions to the design toolkit including but not limited to Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or the like. 
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design innovations.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Basic understanding of SEO concepts and practices.

Reporting and Accountability:

  • Provide regular updates and reports to design projects, achievements, and challenges.
  • Collaborate to establish design goals, objectives, and performance indicators.
  • Take ownership of design outcomes and ensure the successful execution of design projects within agreed-upon timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
